Vendome Jewellery Store, Sydney, NSW

A luxury jewellery store in Woollahra Sydney, Vendome's path to success revolves around every product having an individual story. In effect, the customer is buying an experience. With this in mind owner Alex Simons engaged Tony Assness, a highly respected creative director, to bring the same level of experiential drama to Vendome as the collections it represents.

Going above and beyond the brief, all light sources in Vendome are controlled by one Arteor Black Glass Touchplate, which sits on top of the main counter display. By adding a scheduler to the installation, the ability to create dynamic lighting moods and timed control of wash lights that cycle colours every hour to supply extra theatrical depth to Vendome at night was realised.

Further to this, an infrared motion sensor was employed in the walk way to sequentially switch on the VIP section of Vendome in following fashion, signifying an entrance to somewhere truly special.

The choice of black glass and Galuchat (stingray leather) for the switching and sensor points compliments the principals of what Vendome is trying to achieve; they are truly unique, striking and most importantly they speak towards the story of Vendome appearing to be beautiful, accented pieces of the whole design, not just objects of necessity.

WYCLife Training Centre, VIC

Wycliffe needed to upgrade one of their training facilities at their National Centre in Victoria in order to: increase access to power for student laptops; increase access to datacomms; and facilitate the addition of a new overhead projector. The critical tasks were to minimise any loss of height as a false ceiling needed to be installed to incorporate the new projector, and to maximise multi-functionality of the classroom.

To achieve this, the Soluflex cable management system from Legrand was utilised including 60mm tiles and supports, as well as fully submerged power and data modules. Proving simple to install, the Soluflex floor was installed by volunteers.

Macquarie University Sydney

Sydney's Macquarie University, one of the country's most awarded institutions, faced an enormous power solution challenge in its new amphitheatre: delivering power to 400 individual seats on a curved radius.

Traditional solutions simply would not meet the university's exacting standards.

Working closely with the furniture manufacturer Sebel, and the electrical contractor, HPM Legrand was able to provide an efficient solution based on the Mainline power track.

Mainline is a busbar system that creates a circuit that allows power to be accessed anywhere along its length. Simple 240V sockets can be added, removed and repositioned by students anywhere along its length. Because of the versatile nature of the Mainline track, the initial tight radius of the first ten rows was no problem at all. Tracks were installed under each row of seats with removable end caps fitted in case extension is required in the future.

The end result is a flexible solution that caters for changes in the future and reduces potential safety hazards that exposed lead sand boards often present.
